Update in Broad Rock Boulevard Death Investigation
Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the death investigation yesterday as a juvenile male, 17, of Richmond.
Yesterday at approximately 4:22 a.m., officers were called to the 2800 block of Broad Rock Boulevard for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a male down and unresponsive on the curb of the roadway. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Major Crimes detectives responded and learned the victim was dropped off at the location by an unknown person or persons in a vehicle. That vehicle left the area prior to the arrival of officers. At approximately the same time, officers were called to the 5000 block of Snead Road for the report of random gunfire. Detectives have determined this was the location of the shooting. The investigation continues.
