Anwar “Wawa” Phillips, wanted for the shootings on Monday in the Blue Ridge Apartments and the subject of a reward from the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force, is in custody.
Phillips
was taken into custody in the 100 block of Engleside Drive in Henrico. He has
been transported to a local hospital with injuries that are considered life
threatening.
The
U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force had offered a $5,000 reward for
information leading to the arrest of Phillips, who was wanted in connection to
shooting three people, one fatally, in an apartment in the 300 block of Red Ash
Road in Richmond.
The
Richmond Police Department has identified the homicide victim as Frank A.
McCray, 49, of the 5700 block of Kendall Road.
A
