Chief Alfred Durham has named Captain Angela Greene as the Richmond Police Department’s new liaison with the LGBTQ community in Richmond.
“I am pleased Captain Greene has accepted this position,” said Chief Durham. “As the commander of the Community and Youth Intervention Unit, she has great experience interacting with people from all walks of life.”
Captain Greene will continue as commander of the CYIS Unit as she takes on this additional responsibility.
“My goal is to bring the same dedication, professionalism and compassion to the LGBTQ community as the officers I lead in the CYIS Unit do with the people they serve,” said Captain Greene. “My desire is to enhance a stronger, diversified and equitable partnership between the Richmond Police Department and members of the LGBTQ community.”
Captain
Greene is a fourteen year veteran of the Richmond Police Department. She
replaces former Major Odetta Johnson, who retired last month, as the RPD’s
LGBTQ Liaison.
