Two Men Sought in Rash of Commercial Burglaries

September 23, 2016

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify two men who are persons of interest in nearly two dozen commercial burglaries across the Metro Richmond area.

Detectives believe these two men may have been involved in multiple incidents since July 11 in which convenience stores and gas stations have been the primary target. The most recent incident took place last Saturday at a southside convenience store.

At approximately 2:34 a.m. on September 17, surveillance cameras at the Sunoco located at 3401 Jefferson Davis Highway caught a man lowering himself through the ceiling of the building. He gained access to the building from the rooftop air conditioning unit. He stole cash and climbed back out through the ceiling.

The first person of interest, who was seen on surveillance at the Sunoco, is described as a black male, age 30-40, with short hair. At the time of the Sunoco incident, he wore cargo shorts, a dark jacket, a scarf and white, black and yellow high top.

The second person of interest is a black male who was wearing all dark clothing and a white T-shirt over his head during a recent incident.

Anyone with information about this incident or these individuals is asked to call Second Precinct Detective Pedro Riddle at (804) 646-8168 or contact Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or at www.7801000.com.
