The race is on! The
2015 Richmond Marathon gets underway early Saturday morning, and numerous “No
Parking” zones and intermittent road closures will be in effect as a result.
The 8K race will
begin at 7 a.m. at Eighth and Broad streets. At 7:30 a.m., runners participating
in the half-marathon take off from Seventh and Broad streets. The marathon
starts at 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Fifth and Grace streets.
“No Parking” zones
along Fifth Street between Byrd and Tredegar streets will go into effect at 7
a.m. on Friday, November 13. Closures on Broad Street between 12th
Street and Boulevard will be enforced starting at midnight Saturday. Other “No
Parking” zones will take effect at 3 a.m. Saturday.
Street closures
throughout the city will be effective at 4 a.m. the day of the marathon. Major
thoroughfares that will be affected include Broad Street, Belvidere Street and
the Huguenot Bridge.
