Richmond Police detectives are asking the public for
surveillance images of a robbery suspect.
Today, at approximately 12:50 a.m., a female was driving a
vehicle westbound in the 3200 block of East Broad Street when she stopped at a
stop sign at the intersection of 32nd and East Broad streets.
An unknown male with a gun approached her vehicle, tapped
the passenger side window and motioned for the woman to unlock the door. He got
in the vehicle and demanded to be driven a few blocks away to Chimborazo Park.
There he stole cash, a mobile phone and credit cards before fleeing on foot
through the park towards the dog park area.
There were no injuries.
Detectives are asking anyone who has surveillance equipment
in the area to check the video files to see if they captured the incident or
suspect.
The suspect is described as a black male, mid 40’s, 6 feet 3
inches tall, with a dark complexion. He was wearing a wool cap, denim jacket,
tan or light-colored shirt and dark trousers.
Detectives ask anyone with an image of the suspect or any
information about this incident to call First Precinct Detective Brian
