Richmond Police detectives have made an arrest for the gunshot killing of a Richmond man on Dunn Avenue last summer.
Keton L. Smith, 21, of the 600 block of Northside Avenue was arrested without incident last Friday as his home by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He has been charges with Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
The victim, Matthias J. Washington, 34, of Richmond, was shot the evening of August 18 as he was sitting in a vehicle on Dunn Avenue near Brookland Park Boulevard. He drove away, but his vehicle collided with several parked cars and stopped in the roadway.
“Now
that Smith has been arrested, we’re hoping others will come forward to tell us
what they know about this murder, said Major Crimes Sergeant Richard G.
Edwards. “We have built a good case, but we’d like more information from
people who may have been reluctant to speak until now.”
