Richmond Police
detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect, in the attached
photo, involved in a theft from a motor vehicle in Pony Pasture and credit card
fraud in a surrounding jurisdiction.At approximately 10:31 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, police were called to the 7300 block of Riverside Drive for a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim believes the incident occurred between 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7 while visiting Pony Pasture.
The suspect took several credit cards from the victim’s purse located inside of her vehicle. Shortly after, the suspect made $12,000 of fraudulent charges at the Target located at 11301 Midlothian Turnpike, North Chesterfield.
“We strongly urge residents to always lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of plain sight.” said Detective Eric Sandlin. “Don’t make yourself an easy target for criminals. This was a preventable crime which unfortunately led to another significant financial crime.”
The suspect is described as a white male with a dark beard. Upon exiting Target, he was wearing a white hat, a white shirt, a dark colored pullover top, blue jean shorts, white socks and dark shoes.
