Richmond Police detectives have made an arrest in connection
with a shooting that took place last month in Hillside Court.
A 16-year-old Richmond male was arrested today and
charged with aggravated malicious wounding, robbery and two counts of
use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. No additional information
or booking photo will be released due to the fact that he is a juvenile.
“This shooting happened in broad daylight in a busy
neighborhood,” said Major Crimes Detective Greg Russell. “Thanks to
significant help from the community we were able to identify and apprehend this
individual. We are continuing to gather information in this case and hope
anyone with additional information about what happened that day will contact
us.”
Around 2:20 p.m. on August 5, officers responded to the 1800
block of Southlawn Avenue for a report of a person shot. Officers quickly
located the adult male victim, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot
wound, on a nearby porch. He was transported to a local hospital with
life-threatening injuries.
