Last night at approximately 10:54 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of 4th Avenue and Front Street for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, officers located a juvenile male, 14, down and unresponsive in the roadway. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
At this time, detectives from Major Crimes are investigating the possible circumstances that led to this shooting and ask anyone with information or video from surveillance cameras in the area to contact detectives.
