BACKGROUND:
Media is invited to join Chief Rick Edwards as
he advises the public about the peril when individuals recklessly shoot on New
Years Eve. Insight into the investigations will be shared, and the five arrests
and convictions resulting from those investigations by RPD detectives will be highlighted.
Gunshot detection technology will be discussed. This technology which pinpoints
locations where shootings occur and advances police response and assists investigations.
