Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the man who is suspected of being involved in the
robbery that took place on Friday, July 9 the FasMart store on Hull Street.
At
approximately 2:25 p.m. on July 29, officers responded to the FasMart store,
located at 5200 Hull Street, for a report of a robbery. The suspect entered the
store and asked to use the restroom but was told it was not available. He then
walked outside, smoked a cigarette, and reentered the store under the guise he
was shopping.
Shortly
after the last customer left the store, the suspect approached the counter for
a carton of cigarettes. As the clerk retrieved the carton, the suspect told the
clerk he had a gun in his bag and demanded money. The clerk gave him the money
and the items the suspect brought to the counter. Prior to leaving the store,
the suspect told the clerk to go in the back room and lock the door. The clerk
complied and the suspect fled northbound on foot on Warwick Road.
The suspect is described as a black male who is approximately 23-28 years old, standing 5’7”- 5’9” tall, and weighing 150- 160 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he wore a white shirt, dark green or camouflage pants and black shoes. When the suspect initially walked into the store, he is seen with a tan fishing hat. Upon his second entry, he removes the hat but is seen again with the hat at the time of the incident.
