Victim Identified in
Chamberlayne Avenue Homicide Investigation
Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the Chamberlayne Avenue homicide investigation as Gilberto DeJesus, III, 33, of Richmond.
At approximately 6:48 a.m., Saturday, August 23, officers were called to the 3400 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male, DeJesus, inside of a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury yesterday and was pronounced dead.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
