Pedestrian Identified in Fatal Hit and Run on Semmes Avenue
The Richmond Police Department Crash Team has identified the pedestrian involved in the fatal hit and run on Semmes Avenue as Kristin Tolbert, 26, of Richmond.
On Saturday at approximately 11:31 p.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of Semmes Avenue, near the intersection of West 15th Street, for the report of a person struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and found an adult female, Tolbert, down and unresponsive midblock in the eastbound lanes of the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The RPD Crash Team responded to investigate and determined Tolbert was crossing Semmes Avenue northbound when she was struck by a vehicle operating eastbound. The driver of the vehicle had driven from the scene prior to the arrival of officers.
The RPD Crash Team continues to investigate this fatal hit and run.
