 RPD to Promote 12 from within its Ranks

 

What:             The Richmond Police Department will promote twelve officers as they continue their service to the Richmond community.

 

  • Mayor Levar M. Stoney will offer remarks to the two captains, four lieutenants and six sergeants being promoted.
  • RPD officers will be pinned with their new badges and receive a charge from Chief Rick Edwards.

Victim Identified in Bethel Street Homicide

Victim Identified in Bethel Street Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the homicide that occurred Saturday night in the Whitcomb Court neighborhood as Eric Jackson, 46, of Richmond.

On Saturday at approximately 3:44 a.m., officers were called to the 2300 block of Bethel Street for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found an adult male, Jackson, down and unresponsive on the porch of a home. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Victim Identified in Chamberlayne Avenue Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the homicide last Thursday on Chamberlayne Avenue as Kevin Toler, 35, of no known address.

At approximately 9:02 a.m., on Thursday, June 6, officers were called to the 2900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for the report of random gunfire. Officers arrived and found an adult male, Toler, down and unresponsive in a parking lot of a business. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Victim Identified in Hampton Street Homicide

Victim Identified in Hampton Street Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the homicide that occurred last night on Hampton Street as Wilson Negron, 46, of Henrico.

Yesterday at approximately 6:24 p.m., officers were called to the 1300 block of Hampton Street for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found an adult male, Negron, down and injured on the ground. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury shortly thereafter.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives with the Major Crimes unit are investigating. When officers arrived, a vehicle was in the roadway at the scene and detectives are currently investigating the possible connection of that vehicle to the shooting incident.

Hampton Street Homicide Investigation

At approximately 6:24 p.m., officers were called to the 1300 block of Hampton Street for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found an adult male, down and injured on the ground. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transferred to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
