Arrest Made in Attempted Abduction

The Richmond Police Department has made an arrest of the man suspected of attempting to abduct a teenage girl last week.

Detectives arrested Ronald A. Peterson, 50, of the 900 block of Derrymore Road, without incident and charged him with attempted abduction. His photo is attached.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, the girl was walking in the 2800 block of Fairfield Avenue when she noticed a vehicle drive past her a few times before she was suddenly grabbed from behind by the suspect.

The suspect told her to get in the vehicle, but she was able to get away from him and run to safety.
