Richmond Police Graduates 112th Basic Recruit Class

WHAT:                     Richmond Police 112th Basic Recruit Class Graduation

WHEN:                    10 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016

WHERE:                  Cheek Theater, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, 200 N. Boulevard

BACKGROUND:     Chief Alfred Durham and the Richmond Police Department are proud to welcome 22 new officers to the force and invite the public to their graduation and swearing-in ceremony tomorrow.

The diverse recruit class includes recruits from Bolivia, Honduras and Liberia, and others from states like California, Indiana, North Carolina and Kansas as well as many from right here in Virginia. After 30 weeks of training at the Department’s Academy, the 112th Basic Recruit Class will immediately begin patrols, each assigned to a field training officer for the next eight weeks.
