Stockton Street Death Investigation

The Richmond Police Department is conducting a death investigation as a result of a shooting that occurred in an apartment building on Stockton Street.

Last night at approximately 11:02 p.m., officers responded to 700 Stockton Street for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a male down and unresponsive in the fourth floor hallway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The Richmond Ambulance Authority pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

First Precinct officers, Major Crimes detectives and Forensics detectives are investigating, conducting interviews and collecting evidence.
