The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim in last night’s homicide in the East End as Yishawn Robinson, 17, of the 1900 block of Raven Street.
At
approximately 11:00 p.m., an officer on routine patrol in the 1900 block of
Raven Street was notified by a member of the public that there was a male
down in the area.
The
officer located Robinson who was down and unresponsive in a grass area between
apartment buildings. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was
pronounced dead at the scene.
The
Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
Detectives
were called to the same block two hours earlier, at approximately 9 p.m., for
the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a juvenile male who had
suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital
with an injury that was not considered life threatening. Detectives believe the
two cases are related.
