Victim Identified in Coalter Street Homicide Investigation

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the Coalter Street homicide investigation as Khyrie Bright, 18, of Chester, Virginia.

Yesterday at approximately 6:12 p.m., officers were called to the 1500 block of Coalter Street for the report of a person down. Officers arrived and located an adult male, Bright, on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

RPD to Promote Nine from within its Ranks

What:             The Richmond Police Department will promote nine officers as they continue their service to the Richmond community.

 

  • Richmond Chief Administrative Officer Odie Donald II will offer remarks to the one new lieutenant and eight sergeants being promoted.

 

  • RPD officers will be pinned with their new badges and receive a charge from Chief Rick Edwards.
