Motorcyclist Identified in Fatal Collision

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team has identified the motorcyclist in the fatal collision on East Broad Street Monday night as Galvin Sizemore, 38, of North Chesterfield.

At approximately 9:22 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of East Broad and North 2^nd streets for the report of a collision between a motorcycle and a sedan.

Officers arrived and found an injured adult male, Sizemore, the sole occupant of the motorcycle, down in the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital where, Monday night, he succumbed to his injury.

The driver of the sedan, an adult female, remained on scene and was not injured.

The RPD Crash Team responded. Investigators determined the collision occurred when the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the sedan in the intersection after the motorcyclist failed to observe a red signal.

First Precinct detectives are asking the public to help identify the three males in the attached photos. These males are suspects in acts of property and violent crime in the First Precinct area.

The three suspects can be seen on images captured on surveillance cameras. Detectives in First Precinct are attempting to identify these individuals and are asking the public to assist.

Victim, Juvenile Male, Identified in Terminal Avenue Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim of a homicide on Terminal Avenue on Tuesday as a juvenile male, 17, from North Chesterfield.

At approximately 11:58 p.m., officers were called to the 2400 block of Terminal Avenue for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a juvenile male down and unresponsive in the front yard of a house. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Male Identified in Hanover Avenue Death Investigation

Richmond Police detectives have identified the male in the death investigation on Hanover Avenue as Walter Robinson, III, 36, of Richmond.

On Saturday at approximately 11:54 a.m., officers were called to the 4500 block of Hanover Avenue for the report of a person down. Officers arrived and located an adult male, Robinson, III, down and unresponsive in a residential disposal container in the alley. There were no obvious signs of trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

Motorcyclist Identified in Fatal Collision on Hull Street Road

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team has identified the motorcyclist in the fatal collision on Hull Street Road this morning as Daniel Hooban, 35, of Chesterfield.

At approximately 6:25 a.m., officers were called to the 5500 block of Hull Street Road for the report of a collision between a sedan and a motorcycle.

Officers arrived and found an injured adult male, Hooban, the sole occupant of the motorcycle, down and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the sedan, an adult female, remained on scene.

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team responded to investigate. Investigators determined the collision occurred in the westbound lanes of Hull Street Road. The RPD Crash Team conducted interviews, took measurements and are still investigating the circumstances of this fatal collision. At this time no charges have been filed.

Dominion Energy Riverrock Street Closures and No Parking Zones

The popular sports and music festival, Dominion Energy Riverrock, will take place Friday, May 19 through Sunday, May 21. The event, hosted by Richmond Sport Backers, is expected to bring several thousand participants and spectators to Browns Island during the weekend.

The following streets will be CLOSED with NO PARKING in effect from 7 a.m., Friday, May 19 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 21:

Brown's Island Way and 2^nd Street Connector between Tredegar and South 2nd Streets;

 South 5th Street between East Byrd and Tredegar streets;

South 7^th Street between East Canal and South 10^th streets;

Tredegar Street between the Dominion Energy Entrance and South 7th Street, and;

South 10^th Street between Riverfront Plaza Deck and South 7^th Street.

Victim Identified in Fatal Hit and Run on Orcutt Lane

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team has identified the victim in a fatal hit and run on Wednesday on Orcutt Lane as Ryan Howell, 28, of Richmond.

At approximately 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, officers were called to the 5200 block of Orcutt Lane for the report of a person down. Officers arrived and found an adult male, Howell, down and injured in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The RPD Crash Team responded. Investigators have determined he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Orcutt Lane. That vehicle did not stop at the scene. The Crash Team is investigating several leads in this case and the investigation continues.

The RPD Crash Team is asking for the public’s assistance to come forward with information about what they may have seen on or around Orcutt Lane that morning and asking residents to provide video from doorbell cameras nearby which may show the striking vehicle.
