Community Walk in the Westover Neighborhood

WHAT:                       Richmond Police Department Community Walk

WHEN:                      5:30 p.m. Today, June 26, 2018

WHERE:                    5800 block of Westover Village Drive

BACKGROUND:     Chief Alfred Durham and Richmond Police Department officers will walk through Richmond’s Westover neighborhood this evening. During the walk, Chief Durham and RPD officers will speak with community members about safety concerns they may have and what they would like to see from the Richmond Police Department.

                                Sector 312 Lt. Harold Giles said that the area has seen an increase in property crimes such as thefts from motor vehicles and motor vehicle thefts.

                                “Simple tips such as locking doors and keeping items out of plain sight can make a huge difference in preventing these kinds of thefts,” said Lt. Giles.

This event is the latest in a series of walks conducted by the Richmond Police Department in neighborhoods throughout the city.
