Community Walk in the Belt Atlantic Apartments

WHAT:                       Richmond Police Department Community Walk

WHEN:                       5:30 p.m. Today, March 5, 2019

WHERE:                     The Belt Atlantic Apartments (formerly Midlothian Village Apartments) 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike

BACKGROUND:         Interim Chief William Smith, Command Staff and other Richmond Police Department officers will walk at 5:30 p.m. today through The Belt Atlantic Apartments neighborhood. During the walk, officers will speak with community members about safety concerns they may have and what they would like to see from the Richmond Police Department.

                                    Sector 211 Lt. Lewis Mills is the newly assigned lieutenant for the area and is looking forward to getting to know those who live in the community.

                                    “We want to let residents know they can come to us with any concerns or issues they might have,” said Lt. Mills. “We also will be providing crime prevention tips, especially when it comes to theft from motor vehicles and motor vehicle thefts.”

This event is the latest in a series of walks conducted by the Richmond Police Department in neighborhoods throughout the city.
