Arrest Made after RPD Officers Fired Upon

Last weekend, two Richmond Police Department officers were fired upon as they were driving through Mosby Court. Minutes after the single shot was fired, other RPD officers located and arrested the shooter – a juvenile male.

At approximately 1:40 a.m. Saturday, February 8, two RPD officers reported to dispatch that they had been fired upon in the area of Spotsylvania and Accommodation Streets. Responding officers quickly established a perimeter and arrested the 17 year old gunman.

He has been charged with:
·       Attempted Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer
·       Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony
·       Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile
·       Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle

The officers were not injured. Their vehicle was not struck. A small caliber shell casing was recovered at the scene but the firearm has not yet been located.
