Multiple Vehicles Damaged in Two Incidents in First Precinct


Richmond Police Department detectives are investigating two incidents of damage to multiple parked vehicles in First Precinct.

 

This morning at approximately 3:45 a.m., officers were called to an apartment parking lot in the 400 block of North 18th Street for the report of several vehicles damaged. Officers arrived and found 33 vehicles with smashed driver’s windows. Contents in the vehicle had been ransacked and items had been stolen from multiple cars.

 

Yesterday at approximately 5:20 a.m., officers were called to an apartment parking lot in the 2200 block of East Cary Street for the report of several vehicles damaged. Officers arrived and found 26 vehicles with smashed driver’s windows. Contents in the vehicle had been ransacked and items had been stolen from multiple cars. Detectives have determined the vandalism and thefts from motor vehicles in this incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m.

 

Detectives are seeking photos and videos from surveillance cameras from the properties and nearby to identify suspect(s). Patrol officers have been notified and will continue robust patrols.
