North 31st Street Death Investigation
This morning at approximately 9:52 a.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of North 31st Street for the report of a shooting.
Officers arrived and located an adult male down and unresponsive outside of a home. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wound.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
A person of interest at the scene, an adult male, presented a firearm to officers which was seized. He has been taken into investigative custody and is being interviewed.
Detectives will continue their investigation and consult with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney to determine whether charges will be placed.
Detectives are not looking for any other individuals connected to this shooting at this time. Detectives ask any neighbors who may have video or images of the incident from doorbell cameras or other devices to contact police.
