Homicide Arrest

Richmond Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with the Oct. 20 homicide that occurred in the 1300 block of East Brookland Park Boulevard.

Orlando J. Fogg, 19, of the 00 block of West Norwood Avenue, was identified as a suspect by Richmond Police detectives during the investigation. Fogg was arrested yesterday without incident and has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

He is accused of fatally shooting Brandon T. Thomas, 25, of the 500 block of Arnold Drive.

Do You Know Where These Two Hillside Court Shooters Are?

Richmond Police need the public’s help in finding Lamar Javon Williams in connection with last night’s shooting on Harwood Street.

Williams, 18, has black hair and brown eyes, weighs about 140 pounds and is approximately 5’6” feet tall. His last known address is the 500 block of Windomere Avenue.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers found a male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound inside a residence in the 1400 block of Harwood Street. he was taken to VCU Medical Center and is still in critical condition.

Investigators have worked through the night interviewing witnesses and speaking with members of the community to develop Williams as a suspect.

Richmond Police are still looking for Naquan Shemel Wright, 25, of the 300 block of East 19th Street, in connection with the Friday afternoon shooting of a man in the 1700 block of Rosecrest Avenue, also in Hillside Court.

Suspect Sought in Hillside Shooting

Richmond Police is asking for the public’s help in locating 25-year-old Naquan Shemel Wright. He is wanted in connection with a shooting this afternoon in the Hillside Court community.

Wright, of the 300 block of East 19th Street, has a felony warrant on file for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He also is known to stay in the 7600 block of Bleasco Drive in Chesterfield.

Around 4 p.m., Richmond Police officers received a call for a shooting in the 1700 block of Rosecrest Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a male shooting victim. He was taken to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about Wright’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.

Richmond Police Promotes 3 in Its Ranks

As of tomorrow, the Richmond Police Department will have a new major, a new captain and a new sergeant.

Three of the Department’s own will be presented these titles and ranks in a promotion ceremony 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at the Richmond Police Training Academy, 1202 W. Graham Road. The event is open to the public.

Captain Steve Drew will become a major after more than 17 years with Richmond Police. He currently leads the Department’s Major Crimes Division, comprising the Major Crimes, Forensics and Homicide units. As major, he will be in charge of Operations Area 1, which includes First Precinct and Second Precinct.

Lt. Brian Russell moves up to captain in the Major Crimes Division, replacing Captain Drew. Lt. Russell, a 27-year veteran of the Department, spent seventeen years working in the Narcotics Unit and Special Investigations before becoming a detective and then the lieutenant leading the Homicide Unit.

Acting Sgt. Jayson Walter can remove the acting status from his title. Sgt. Walter has been with the Department six years and will continue in his role as a midnight shift sergeant at First Precinct.

“I am pleased to be able to continue to build my leadership team with the talent and experience we have right here in Richmond Police,” Chief Bryan T. Norwood said. “These individuals have proven time and again that they have embraced our community policing philosophy and are ready and able to move this Department forward.”

Shooter Arrested

With the assistance of Henrico Police, the man wanted in connection to a Northside shooting has been arrested.

Khi-Lin Webb, 19, was arrested this afternoon in the 300 block of Winston Street in Henrico County.

Webb is a suspect in the shooting of a man just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at North Avenue and East Ladies Mile Road.

Detectives would like to thank Henrico Police and the Highland Park community for their assistance in this investigation.

North Avenue Shooter Sought

Richmond Police need the public’s help to find Khi-Lin Webb in connection with yesterday’s shooting on North Avenue.

Webb, 19, also goes by the nicknames KB, Yum Yum and Yummy. He is a light-complected black male about 6’0” feet tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

His last known address is the 300 block of Winston Street. He is known to frequent the Azalea Avenue corridor including Chamberlayne Avenue, the Azalea shopping centers, the Ashley Terrace Apartments, the Shannon Townhomes, the Colonial Apartments and the Seven Cables Apartments.

Richmond Police Investigating Murder on Government Road

A shooting in front of a neighborhood convenience store resulted in the death of Richmond man last night.

Around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, Richmond Police officers were called to the 4000 block of Government Road for a report of a person down. When officers arrived, they found Christopher David Lee, 29, unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Lee, who lived in the 700 block of North 35th Street, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Richmond Police is investigating robbery as a possible motive in this homicide. There is no suspect information available at this time.
