Hobbs Lane Homicide Investigation

Today, at approximately 9:21 a.m., officers were called to 4301 Hobbs Lane for the report of a person down in Gillies Creek Park. Officers arrived and located an adult female with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Victim Identified in Old Brook Road Homicide, Arrest Made

Richmond Police detectives have identified the male who was found dead yesterday near the 4900 block of Old Brook Road.     

On February 23, Antajuan Hawkins, 20, of Henrico, was reported missing.  Henrico Police worked diligently to locate Hawkins and notified Richmond Police yesterday at approximately 3:45p.m., February 26, that he had been located, deceased, in a wooded area of the 4900 block of Old Brook Road, Pine Camp.  Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Yesterday, Richmond Police Detectives charged Randel Parker, 20, of Henrico, with stabbing while committing a felony.  Additional charges are pending. Booking photo unavailable at this time.

Victim Identified in Homicide in Alley near West Broad Street

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim of the shooting in an alley near West Broad Street last Monday as Balewa Hendy, 24, of Richmond.

At approximately 11:03 a.m., officers were called to an alley near the 2000 block of West Broad Street for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and located an adult male, Hendy, down and unresponsive in the alley. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives are investigating.

Bainbridge Street Death Investigation

The Richmond Police Department Major Crimes and Crash Team Units are investigating an accident and a shooting that occurred early this morning on Bainbridge Street. 

Today at approximately 5:08 a.m., Richmond Police responded to Bainbridge and West 13^th streets for the report of a vehicle crash and shots fired. Officers arrived and located a vehicle that had crashed into multiple parked, unoccupied, vehicles along Bainbridge Street. The vehicle sustained damage from the gunfire.  Officers determined that at the time of the crash there were two occupants in the vehicle and they were travelling eastbound. One victim sustained no injuries. The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victims Identified in Minefee Street Homicide, Death Investigation

Victims Identified in Minefee Street Homicide, Death Investigation

Richmond Police detectives have identified the male who was shot on Minefee Street on Saturday and the female who was found dead in a residence on Minefee Street on Sunday.

Anthony Robinson, 35, of Richmond, was found down and unresponsive on a sidewalk in the 1300 block of Minefee Street at approximately 9:02 p.m. Saturday following calls for random gunfire and a report of a person down. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are investigating.

The following day, detectives found Sharonda Jasper, 39, of Amelia County, down and unresponsive in an apartment in the 1300 block of Minefee Street. She had not suffered from a visible injury but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have determined there is a connection between these individuals as Robinson and Jasper were both staying at the apartment where Jasper was found.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of the deaths.

Victim Identified in Highland View Avenue Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the shooting on Highland View Avenue on Monday as Marcus Craddock, 41, of Richmond.

At approximately 9:05 p.m., officers were called to the 1200 block of Highland View Avenue for the report of a shooting. Officers located an adult male, Craddock, down and unresponsive inside a residence. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on scene.

Detectives are investigating.

At approximately 9:02 p.m., officers were called to the 1300 block of Minefee Street for several reports of random gunfire and a report of a person down. Officers arrived and found an adult male down and unresponsive on a sidewalk. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
