Foul Play Suspected in Disappearance of Keeshae Jacobs

After 14 months of intense investigation, the Richmond Police Department is renewing its call for information to locate Keeshae E. Jacobs. Her photo is attached.

Family and friends have not heard from Ms. Jacobs since Monday September 26, 2016 when she told a family member she would see them the next day. When she did not return to her residence in the Westover neighborhood they immediately contacted police. After working the case for over a year with no sign of Keeshae, police now suspect foul play in her disappearance. 

“Keeshae’s family understands the scope and magnitude of this investigation,” said Major Crimes Det. William Thompson. “This is not a young lady that just decided to run away or move to another state, it is not her character to not call her family or friends in 14 months when she would reach out to them every day.”  

She is described as a black female, age 21, 5’3” tall, weighing approximately 100 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black basketball shorts, pink and black Nike basketball shoes and a pink scarf. She has tattoos on her right foot, right leg and right hand of a leaf, paws and a flower, respectively.

“Detectives have worked diligently in an effort to locate and find Miss Jacobs,” said Det. Thompson. “We hope that publicizing our belief that she was met with foul play might prompt others to come forward with information that will help solve this case.”

The Richmond Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man, Jason A. Taylor, who has been missing since last Wednesday. His photo is attached.

Taylor, 37, was last seen driving away from apartments on Ellwood Avenue in the late afternoon on Nov. 22. His vehicle is a black 2005 Toyota Tacoma pickup. He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, with blue eyes and short brown hair, and weighing approximately 190 pounds.

2017 Richmond Christmas Parade Traffic Advisory

Thousands of people are expected to line Broad Street on Saturday for the 34^th annual Dominion Christmas Parade. Numerous street closures and “No Parking” zones will be in effect.

The parade will begin at 10:15 a.m. at the Science Museum of Virginia and proceed east on Broad Street toward Seventh Street. More than 100,000 spectators from across Virginia attend annually, according to parade organizers.

Major city thoroughfares such as Broad Street and Leigh Street will be affected. “No Parking” zones along the route will go into effect beginning at 5 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 until 3 p.m.

The following roads will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. and remain in effect until approximately 2:30 p.m.

·         West Broad Street between Terminal Place and North Allen Avenue

·         Broad Street (westbound only) between North Allen Avenue and North 8^th Street.

·         DMV Drive between West Broad and West Leigh Streets

·         West Leigh Street between Hermitage and Myers Street

·         7^th Street between East Broad and Jackson Streets

·         East Leigh Street between 4^th and 9^th Streets

·         East Marshall between 3^rd and 7^th Streets

 

 

Suspect Sought in Northside Convenience Store Robbery

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the individual who is suspected of a robbery that occurred yesterday inside of a Northside convenience store.

At approximately 7:13 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, police were called to a convenience store in the 1400 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for a report of a robbery. Police were told the suspect walked into the business and browsed several items in the store. He then approached the cashier and placed candy on the counter and proceeded to pay with a $1 bill.

When the cashier opened the cash drawer, the suspect sprayed him with pepper spray. The suspect then reached into the open cash drawer and took money – including the $1 bill he used in during the initial transaction. He fled the scene running northbound on High Street toward Fritz Street.

The suspect is described as a black male with a brown eyes and a short, dark facial hair. He is approximately 20 to 30 years old, 5’8” to 5’10” tall, and 140 to 160 pounds. At the time he was wearing a burgundy coat, dark jeans, white and black tennis shoes and a black skull cap.

Arrest Made in Shockoe Bottom Double Homicide

An arrest has been made in the shooting deaths last month of Oscar W. Lewis II, 25, of the 1700 block of N. 29^th Street and Deonte M. Bullock, 29, of the 2200 block of Carrington Street.

Dominique D. Brockenbrough, 40, of Richmond was arrested yesterday afternoon in North Carolina by the Vance County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. Brockenbrough has been charged with first-degree murder (2), aggravated malicious wounding, possessing and transporting a firearm by a convicted felon, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Brockenbrough will be extradited back to Virginia. A mugshot will be released once it becomes available.

At approximately 1:16 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 8, officers patrolling in the area heard gunfire. When police arrived to the 1700 block of East Main Street they located Deonte M. Bullock, 29, and Oscar W. Lewis II, 25, suffering from life threatening gunshot wounds. Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene. Bullock was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries that afternoon. Brockenbrough fled the area on foot after the shooting.

Statement on Chesterfield Police Investigation of Attempted Robbery Involving Richmond Police Officer

At around 12:30 a.m. this morning, Richmond Police Officer Robert Misegades was wounded during a shooting that occurred in Chesterfield County.

Gunfire was exchanged while Officer Misegades was off-duty which resulted in a juvenile who was killed. The Chesterfield Police Department is investigating this incident as an attempted robbery.

Officer Misegades, a four-year veteran of the Department, was treated and released for his injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Due to this being an active investigation, the Richmond Police Department will defer all questions to the Chesterfield Police Department.

Suspect Sought in Carytown Armed Robbery

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspects in the photos who are suspected of an armed robb­­ery which occurred inside 7-Eleven in Carytown last week.

At approximately 6:10 a.m., on Thursday, Nov. 23, three unknown males wearing masks entered the 7-Eleven in the 3300 block of West Cary Street. One of the suspects brandished a firearm. All three took money and items from the store. No injuries were reported.

All three suspects fled on foot and were last seen heading south into an alleyway.

• Suspect 1: (Pictured holding weapon) A male in his early-20s. He was wearing a navy jacket, dark pants, and dark shoes.
• Suspect 2: A male in his early-20s. He was wearing a white mask over his face, a black sweatshirt with a red hood, grey gloves, and black pants.
• Suspect 3: A male in his early-20s. He was last seen wearing a light blue mask over his face, a black sweatshirt with a hood, grey gloves, and grey pants.
