Arrest Made in North 26th Street Homicide

The individual sought in connection to the homicide that occurred on North 26th Street on September 9, 2021, has been arrested and charged by Richmond Police Department detectives.

Warren Bagley, 25, of Richmond was charged with first degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

On Thursday, September 9, 2021, at approximately 6:38 p.m., Richmond Police were called to the 900 block of North 26th Street for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and located an adult male who was later identified as 27-year old Davvion M. Graham of Chesterfield who was pronounced deceased on scene from a gunshot wound.

Names Released of Three Remaining Suspects In Adam Oakes Death Investigation

The three remaining individuals indicted in connection to the death of Adam Oakes have turned themselves in.

Victim Identified in Coalter Street Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in yesterday’s homicide on Coalter Street as Rishard Watkins, 38, of Richmond. 

Yesterday at approximately 4:54 p.m., Richmond Police were called to the 1300 block of Coalter Street for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and located Watkins with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

Maurice Avenue Homicide

Yesterday at approximately 2:10 p.m., Richmond Police were called to the 3100 block of Maurice Avenue to check on the welfare of a resident. Officers arrived and located an adult male who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

Arrests Made in Adam Oakes Death Investigation

Today, eight of 11 individuals have been arrested on charges related to the death of Adam Oakes. Of those arrested, seven were taken into custody by Virginia Commonwealth University Police and one by Virginia State Police, each facing misdemeanor charges. Seven remain in custody at the Richmond Justice Center, being held without bond. Enayat W. Sheikhzad was arrested by Virginia State Police in Prince William County and was released on bond. 

The remaining three individuals are expected to turn themselves in within the coming days. (photos attached)

On February 27, 2021, Richmond Police officers responded to a call in the 100 block of West Clay Street and found Oakes unresponsive and he was pronounced deceased on the scene.

On May 25, the Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death as ethanol toxicity.

The seven month long investigation was led by the Richmond Police Department in collaboration with VCU Police, and the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. 

Victim identified in Hull Street Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in Sunday’s homicide on Hull Street as Jer’maurri Gilliam, 26, of Richmond.

Sunday at approximately 1:44 p.m., Richmond Police were called to the 3400 block of Hull Street for a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located Gilliam with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
