Suspect, Vehicle Sought in Hit and Run

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team is investigating a life-threatening hit and run where a pedestrian was struck by an unidentified vehicle. The incident occurred this morning on Hull Street Road.

At approximately 1:51 a.m., officers were called to the 4600 block of Hull Street Road for the report of a collision. Officers arrived and found an adult female down and injured after being struck by a vehicle. She was located on the gravel shoulder off the eastbound lane of the roadway on Hull Street Road between Southwood Parkway and East Belt Boulevard.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were considered life threatening. The driver of the vehicle left the scene without stopping or rendering aid to the victim.

The RPD Crash Team responded to the scene and determined the pedestrian was walking westbound on Hull Street Road towards Southwood Parkway when she was struck by the eastbound vehicle. The investigation continues.

Old Warwick Road Burglary Suspect Sought

 

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in these photos who committed a burglary earlier this month.

 

At approximately 9:52 p.m., Thursday, January 5, the male suspect, captured on a store surveillance camera, entered a local business located in the 6300 block of Old Warwick Road and tampered with the door. Detectives believe that the same suspect returned the next morning and at approximately 6:56 a.m. entered the closed business and stole cash from the register.

 

The suspect was last seen driving a four-door, black Toyota Camry with temporary Virginia tags: B51604. The suspect also has tattoo lettering on his left hand and wrist.

Victim, Shooter Identified in Richdale Road Homicide, Suicide

Victim, Shooter Identified in Richdale Road Homicide, Suicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim and shooter in the incident on Richdale Road on Saturday.

At approximately 3:55 p.m., officers were called to a home in the 2400 block of Richdale Road for the report of a person down. Officers found an adult female, Kathy Brashier, 68, of Richmond, down and unresponsive. She had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Also in the home, officers found an adult male, Lee Blair, 49, of Richmond, down and unresponsive. He had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have determined Brashier is Blair’s mother. Detectives are not looking for any suspects. Also found in the home was a dog who was wounded by an apparent gunshot wound. Richmond Animal Care & Control was called and transported the dog for treatment.

Midlothian Turnpike Aggravated Assault and Death Investigation

This evening at approximately 6:35 p.m. RPD officers responded to the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike for the report of a shooting. Once on scene officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and his injuries are considered to be life threatening.

After further investigation, officers located a second adult male with a gunshot wound.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lobby Day 2023 Road Closures and No Parking Zones

The Richmond Police Department asks the public to be aware of several road closures and ‘No Parking’ zones that will be in effect during Lobby Day 2023.

The RPD, working with partner law enforcement agencies, is dedicated and committed to ensuring that the public has safe access to the Virginia State Capitol grounds where they can participate in the annual Lobby Day interaction with legislators. These road closures and no parking zones help achieve that goal.

Roads will be closed and ‘No Parking’ zones will be established from 5 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday, January 16. A map of the closures is attached.

The following roads will be closed during that time period:

• North 9^th Street between East Main and East Broad streets
• East Franklin Street between North 8^th and North 9^th streets
• East Grace Street between North 8^th and North 9^th  streets

 The following “No Parking” zones will be in effect during that time period:

• East Broad Street between North 5^th and North 14^th streets
• East Main Street between North 8^th and North 14^th streets
• North 9^th Street between East Broad and East Main streets
• East Franklin Street between North 8^th and North 9^th streets
• East Grace Street between North 8^th and North 9^th  streets
• North 12^th Street between East Main and Bank streets

East Main Street Commercial Burglary Suspect Sought 

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in these photos who committed a commercial burglary last week.

At approximately 3:29 a.m., Friday, January 6, the male suspect, captured on a store surveillance camera, entered a closed business located in the 2000 block of East Main Street and stole several items.

The suspect was last seen loading the stolen items into a green super can and rolled the can away on foot.

Westover Hills Robbery Suspect Sought

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in the photo and video who committed a robbery this week.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., Monday, January 2, the male suspect, captured on a store surveillance camera, attempted to leave a market in the 5000 block of Forest Hill Avenue without paying for several items. When an employee attempted to intervene the suspect brandished a firearm and threatened the employee.

The suspect was last seen heading eastbound on foot in the 5000 block of Forest Hill Avenue.
