Richmond Police have identified the man who died in a car crash Friday night as Sam Hillard Jr., 84, of Tallahassee, Florida.
At approximately 10:45 p.m. Friday, police and emergency crews responded to Libbie Terrace and 29th Street for a report of a vehicle going over the hill.
According to witness statements, Hillard, driving his Cadillac El Dorado, sideswiped a parked vehicle and then a retaining wall before driving off the hill of Libbie Hill Park. He died at the scene.
