Hunt Avenue Homicide

The Richmond Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the Providence Park neighborhood.

At approximately 9:21 p.m., officers were called to the 300 block of Hunt Avenue for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived and located a male unresponsive in the roadway who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

Forensics detectives are collecting evidence and major crimes detectives are canvassing the area for information.
