Suspect Sought in Two Commercial Break-Ins

October 6, 2015

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the man in the attached photos who is a suspect in two commercial break-ins that occurred last month.

At approximately 2:15 a.m. on September 16, officers were called to an auto service center in the 3600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway for a report of a break-in. Surveillance video showed a heavyset, light-skinned, bald black male with a beard force entry through a garage door.

Once inside, he unsuccessfully attempted to gain access to drawers in the office before apparently being frightened away by an alarm. Nothing was taken from the business, and the suspect fled from the premises.

Detectives believe that, about a week prior, the same suspect also broke into a convenience store in the 100 block of Belt Boulevard. Between the early morning hours of September 8 and the morning of September 9, he is believed to have forced entry to the business and taken clothing.

Anyone with any information about this suspect is asked to call Second Precinct Detective Charles Baldwin at (804) 646-8184 or call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
