Arrest Made in West Cary Street Shooting

The Richmond Police Department, with the assistance of the Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department, have made an arrest in connection with a shooting on West Cary Street in March.

Brian Kelly, 18, of the 1000 block of Greystone Avenue, was arrested yesterday by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. He has been charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. His photo is attached.

At approximately 12:38 a.m. on Sunday, March 24, officers were called to the 700 block of West Cary Street for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital with an injury that was not considered life-threatening.
