Victim Identified, Person of Interest Sought in Green Cove Drive Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in last week’s homicide in the Hioaks neighborhood as Michael Cross, 42, of Petersburg. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance to locate Montana Talbert, 36, of Henrico, a person of interest wanted in connection with the incident.

At approximately 2:59 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, officers were called to the 200 block of Green Cove Drive for the report of a stabbing. Officers arrived and found Cross suffering from an apparent stab wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

A warrant for breaking and entering in relation to the incident has been obtained for Talbert. He is approximately 5’7” tall with a slender build. His photo is attached.
