Suspects Sought in Credit Card Fraud

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the individuals in the attached photo, who are suspected of using a stolen credit to make fraudulent purchases last week.

On Monday, March 30, the victim was notified that their card had been used at the Farm Fresh located in the 2300 block of East Main Street. Surveillance footage shows two females buying food and cigarettes worth over $400 with the victim’s card. They were last seen leaving the store in a silver convertible with a black top. A photo of the vehicle is attached.

Detectives determined the card was also used at the McDonald’s located in the 1800 block of East Broad Street.

Suspects Sought in North Laurel Street Robbery

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the individuals in the attached photos, who are suspects in a robbery that occurred last weekend.

On Saturday, March 28, two victims reported the suspects approached them from behind in the 200 block of North Laurel Street, grabbed them and demanded money. 

The female victim broke free, but dropped her iPhone XS Max along with her wallet.  The male victim stated the suspects held him and told him to give up the money.  The male victim gave the suspects $150 cash before they fled on foot toward the 700 block of West Grace Street.

Victim Identified in P Street Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim of yesterday’s homicide as Angela M. Rector, 30, of Richmond.

At approximately 9:15 p.m. yesterday, officers responded to the 3200 block of P Street for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Angela M. Rector suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. She died of her injuries shortly after.

The Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Suspect Sought in Commercial Armed Robbery on East Main Street

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the individual in the attached photos who is a suspect in a commercial armed robbery that occurred earlier this week.

At approximately 9:48 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, officers responded to the Fas Mart in the 2600 block of E. Main Street for the report of an armed commercial robbery. The suspect reportedly entered the business with a gun and pointed it at the cashier. He hopped over the counter and told the cashier to open the register. He stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store.

Victims Identified in Death Investigation on Forest Hill Avenue

Richmond Police Department detectives have identified the two victims in a death investigation that occurred earlier this week as Mary M. Barnes, 81, and Sylvia D. Barnes, 61, both of the 7600 block of Forest Hill Avenue.

At approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, officers responded to a call for two people down inside an apartment in the 7600 block of Forest Hill Avenue.  The caller identified themselves as a family member who was there to do a welfare check.  Once on scene, police discovered the bodies of Mary Barnes and her daughter, Sylvia.

A preliminary investigation shows no signs of trauma, foul play nor drug use.  The Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Arrest Made in Marlowe Road Sexual Assault

The Richmond Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a sexual assault that happened last month.

Maquel Mills, 24, of Chester, VA was apprehended today.  He has been charged with Attempted Forcible Sodomy in connection with an incident that occurred in the 6900 block of Marlowe Road on March 2, 2020.  His booking photo is attached.

Detectives want to thank the public for their assistance in this case.

Suspects Sought in Fan District Graffiti Vandalism

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspects in the attached photos who are suspected of vandalizing property with graffiti in the Fan District.

At around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, security video shows three unknown males walking in an alley near North Allen Avenue and West Grace Street. Video captures one suspect vandalizing a trash can with graffiti. Photos of the damage are also attached.
