Suspect Sought in North 5th Street Armed Robbery

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the man in the photos who is suspected of robbing an individual on North 5^th Street last week.

Just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, the victim was walking northbound in the 200 block of North 5^th Street when an unknown man approached him and asked to use his cell phone. While pulling out his phone, the victim accidently dropped money on the ground. The suspect pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the victim and demanded money. The suspect took the money and fled northbound on North 5^th Street.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black hat with 1990 on the front bill.

Missing Person Found

About a month after the Richmond Police Department announced they were looking for a city woman who went missing, she has been found safe.

Candis H. Bellah, 32, of the 3800 block of Chamberlayne Avenue, was last seen in Washington, D.C. on Monday, March 16.

After conducting a nationwide search, RPD Detective A. Darnell tracked down Bellah in the Washington D.C. area. In spite of several dead-ends, Det. Darnell, wouldn’t give up. He spoke to people all over the United States.

“It was amazing to see how much effort he put into a missing person’s case,” said Major Crimes Lieutenant Lisa Watson. “He proved he really cared about Ms. Bellah and her well-being.”

Suspect Sought in Commercial Burglary on West Broad Street

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the individual in the attached photo who is the suspect in a commercial burglary that occurred this past weekend.

At approximately 2:32 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, security video shows the suspect in the 4700 block of West Broad Street, forcing the door of a business open and taking cash.

Different security footage shows the suspect on a red bicycle in the area, just prior to the burglary.  He was wearing a gray hoodie under a black jacket (with white stripes on the sleeves and sides of the jacket), stonewashed jeans with ripped knees and light stripes down the sides, and blue shoes with white soles.

Victim Identified in Blakey Street Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim of last week’s homicide in the city’s East End as Francesca Harris-Scarborough, 31, of the 1000 block of Hull Street.

At approximately 6:50 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, officers were called to the 3400 block of Blakey Street.  When they arrived on scene, they found an adult female down inside of a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrest Made in Forest Hill Avenue Rape

Richmond Police Department detectives, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force and Second Precinct patrol officers, have made an arrest in connection with a rape that happened last August.

Victor M. Manuel, 32, of the 3300 block of Shady Creek Road, Chesterfield, VA was apprehended today.  He has been charged with Rape in connection with an incident that occurred in the 4000 block of Forest Hill Avenue on August 4, 2019.  His booking photo is attached.

Detectives want to thank the public for their assistance in this case.

Suspects Sought in Gaming Machine Larceny

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the three individuals in the attached photos, who are suspected of breaking into gaming machines at a business and stealing money.

Someone between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, three suspects entered the N. 25^th Street Market, a convenience store located at 1007 N. 25^th Street and stole money from the gaming machines using a key or some sort of unlocking device.

The suspects left and then entered the Exxon located at 4900 West Broad Street and attempted to steal money from the gaming machine. The store owner saw the suspects on surveillance video and confronted them. They returned the money and then fled the store.

They were last seen leaving in a white Chevrolet Traverse SUV. Detectives believe the vehicle has a North Carolina license plate. A photo of the vehicle is attached.

Suspects Sought in Commercial Burglary on Forest Hill Avenue

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the individuals in the attached photos, who are suspects in a commercial burglary that occurred last week.

At approximately 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, officers responded to the S&K Mini Mart in the 3400 block of Forest Hill Avenue for a burglary alarm that had just gone off.  Once on scene, police found the front glass window smashed in. 

Security video shows the two adult male suspects using a lead pipe to break the window and get inside the business.  They went directly behind the counter and stole cigarettes and money.  The suspects left the same way they came in.
