Arrest Made in Redd Street Homicide

The Richmond Police Department, with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, has made an arrest in connection to a homicide that occurred in August on Redd Street.

Rico T. Mattox, 27, of the 1900 block of Redd Street was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force this afternoon.  He was charged with murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. His booking photo is attached.

At approximately 7:46 p.m. on August 10, officers received a call for a person shot in the 1900 block of Redd Street. When officers arrived they located Cortez L. Wright, 28, of the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
