Suspect Sought in Bank Robbery on Forest Hill Avenue

We received a number of tips from the community and used those to identify the suspect.  The information was broadcast to RPD officers.


At approximately 9 a.m. today, Second Precinct officers saw the suspect - 26-year-old Marcus D. Griffis - near Broad Rock Road and arrested him.  Griffis has been charged with robbery.

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the male suspect in the attached photos who robbed a bank this afternoon.

At approximately 4:15 p.m., officers responded to the Suntrust Bank located at 4708 Forest Hill Avenue for the report of a bank robbery.  The suspect passed a note to a teller and left with an undisclosed amount of money. 

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 17-25 years old, 5’ 7”-5’ 8”, and 140 pounds.
