Victim Identified in North 21st Street Homicide

The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim of Thursday’s homicide in the city’s East End as a 15-year-old male.  His family has asked that we not release his name.

The incident occurred on Thursday, April 23 at approximately 1:46 a.m. in the 1100 block of North 21st Street, where it intersects with R Street. Officers were in the area, heard several gunshots and as they responded, the Richmond Department of Emergency Communications received calls for a person shot.  Once on scene, they located the male victim in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  He was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives want to thank the public for their assistance in identifying this victim.
