Arrest Made in Williamsburg Avenue Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have made an arrest in connection to the Williamsburg Avenue homicide that occurred on Wednesday.

Jamar Paxton Jr., 18, of Mechanicsville, was arrested yesterday. He has been charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Additional charges are pending. His booking photo is attached.

At approximately 10:13 a.m., on Wednesday, May 13th, RPD officers were called to the 4300 block of Williamsburg Avenue for a report of a person down on a bicycle path.

When officers arrived, they found Dominique Danzy, 22, of Richmond lying on the path. She had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
