Williamsburg Avenue Homicide Suspect Charged with Murder

The Richmond Police Department is announcing additional charges against the suspect of a homicide on Williamsburg Avenue earlier this month.

Indictments were served yesterday on Jamar Paxton Jr., 18, of Mechanicsville for First-Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.  He is still charged with Robbery and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.  His booking photo is attached.

At approximately 10:13 a.m. on May 13, officers responded to the 4300 block of Williamsburg Avenue for the report of a person down on a bicycle path.  When officers arrived, they found Dominique Danzy, 22, of Richmond lying on the path. She had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
