Homicide Investigation
Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the fatal shooting that occurred last month as Donavan Depriest, 23, of Richmond, and detectives have made an arrest.
Michael Davis, 37, of North Chesterfield, has been charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a felon. His booking photo is attached.
At approximately 11:15 p.m., Thursday, April 10, officers were called to the 3400 block of Walmsley Boulevard for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male, Depriest, down on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
