Arrest Made in Jefferson Davis Highway Shooting

Richmond Police detectives, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals’ Regional Fugitive Task Force, have made an arrest from a shooting that occurred earlier this month on Jefferson Davis Highway.

Vincent Squire, 37, of the 100 block of Alice Street, Chesapeake, was arrested yesterday without incident. He has been charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. His photo is attached.

At approximately 12:57 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, officers responded to the 3600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway for the report of a person shot. When police arrived, they located an adult male in the walkway of a motel suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
