Community Walk in the Carytown Neighborhood

WHAT:                       Richmond Police Department Community Walk

WHEN:                      5:30 p.m. Today, October 16

WHERE:                    Wells Fargo Parking Lot at 3201 West Cary Street

BACKGROUND:     Chief Alfred Durham, Third Precinct Sector 311 Acting Lt. J. Morgan Brown and other Richmond Police Department officers will participate in a walk through Richmond’s Carytown neighborhood at 5:30 p.m. today. During the walk, RPD officers will speak with community members about safety concerns they may have and what they would like to see from the Richmond Police Department.

Sector 111 Acting Lt. J. Morgan Brown said the focus of this walk will be speaking and meeting with business owners in the Carytown area.

“The holiday season is quickly approaching, and we want to remind businesses and residents to take extra precautions to prevent crimes such as shoplifting, package thefts, and theft from motor vehicles,” said A/Lt. Brown.

This event is the latest in a series of walks conducted by the Richmond Police Department in neighborhoods throughout the city.
