West Broad Street Homicide Investigation

Richmond Police detectives have identified the female who was located on Brander Street yesterday as a juvenile female, 17, of North Chesterfield.

Yesterday at approximately 10:05 p.m., officers were called to Ancarrow’s Landing on Brander Street for the report of a person down. Officers arrived and found the juvenile female down and unresponsive. She had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives have determined the incident is connected to a scene on West Broad Street. On Wednesday at approximately 6:38 a.m., officers were called to a parking deck in the 2000 block of West Broad Street for the report of a suspicious situation. Officers arrived and collected evidence that they have connected to the homicide investigation.
