Southlawn Avenue Homicide Investigation


Richmond Police detectives have made an arrest in the city’s first homicide of 2013.



Just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Southlawn Avenue for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found the victim—Elbert D. Lynch, 32, of the 2300 block of Deforrest Court—suffering from life-threatening stab wounds.



He was taken to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries early this morning.



His girlfriend, Jamora E. Williams, 29, of the 1800 block of Southlawn Avenue, was initially arrested and charged with malicious wounding. That charge is expected to be upgraded.
