August 5, 2024
The Richmond Police Department is gearing up to celebrate National Night Out tomorrow evening, the biggest city-wide party of the year, and all city residents are invited to participate.
The annual event, to be held Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, brings police and neighbors together in support of crime prevention during an evening full of fun for all ages. A strong partnership between the citizens and law enforcement is a powerful tool in fighting crime which begins with building a sense of community.
Numerous National Night Out events will be hosted throughout the Richmond area. A list of registered events throughout the city is below.
“When neighbors get together at these events they get to know us and one another,” said RPD Community Care unit Captain Dan Minton. “The relationships that form can be a powerful tool in fighting crime because neighbors become motivated to know and help each other. It’s also best to get to know your precinct officers in a fun atmosphere. This annual event is a great time to connect!”
