Pedestrian Identified in Broad Rock Boulevard Fatal Collision

The Richmond Police Department’s Crash Team investigators have identified the male pedestrian who was killed in the fatal crash that occurred yesterday on Broad Rock Boulevard as Oswaldo Garcia Perez, 56, of Richmond.

At approximately 9:13 p.m., officers were called to the 2600 block of Broad Rock Boulevard for the report of pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and found the male, Garcia Perez, down and injured in the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene and called 911.

The RPD Crash Team responded to the scene and determined the pedestrian was crossing the roadway in the middle of the block when he was struck by the vehicle in the travel lane.
